How horrendous is this???!!!!

But it opens my post very well. I have been asked to talk at Jons school about HIV and AIDS, although its a sixth form ethics lesson, I thought I would talk about some of the myths and facts, as above. But, having not really done this before I would very much appreciate input and advice and ideas.

so, go to it.

cool thanks.

it is an actual sign, theres a section on the website of real signs, and this is one of them. making it worthy of burning in hell.

I heard about the guy who 'cured himself' still not sure about that one. he tested positive on 4 tests over 15 months then tested negative, but I still feel like theres something a bit funny about the whole thing. not sure if its really possible to cure yourself of HIV.

Might take you up on the offer of borrowing esteem stuff. I heard the virgin myth when I was in SA. when I was out there a 6 month old girl had been gang raped by her uncle and his mates for that reason. makes me feel so sick.

hey Jodes
we were talking about the guy who was cured at work - i think there are a lot of different stories going round bout how many tests he had etc, but from what i've been told, he prob had tests that gave wrong results at first and was never +ve anyway - he may have had some other virus which affected the early tests. apparently, his whole story has been quite damaging - people all over the world have been hearing about it. my boss[i am so sorry i keep going on about her...]had phone calls from people all over for days after it came out, asking if they should stop taking medication cos there was a cure;could they be transferred to the hospital the man was treated at etc. so his story hasn't really helped much, also given that no-one actually knows the facts about his case.

also have access to lot of stuff, stories. stats etc. its great you are doing this! i think its rerally important to highlight how an issue like HIV/AIDS affects e us here in the UK. its not just an african thing. we need to challenge our prejudices and stigma of the virus here. went to some great world aids day stuff last week here in London, with the ex MP and minister Chris Smith who came out as +ve last year, after living with HIV for 18 years. a very interesting man.
